RTA permit is issued by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai as a mandatory permit that authorizes the use of a transport vehicle in a specified manner as per RTA guidelines.
RTA permits is compulsory for stickers and wrappers applied to vehicles, this is to make sure that the imagery adheres to road transport norms and does not offend the values of society and law.
To gain RTA approval, you will have to submit the design of the advertisement along with the valid vehicle registration cards or Mulkiya, valid trade license.
The main types of RTA permits depend on the advertisement design coverage on the vehicle body and type of vehicle where the advertisement is applied.
- Commercial vehicles: logo and commercial name on the front doors without the windows.
- Commercial vehicles: a complete wrap excluding the windows.
- Commercial vehicles: a partial wrap excluding the windows.
- Advertising on a vehicle for an event
Approval from the Dubai Police (CID) is required in case the colour of the applied design alters the vehicle’s original colour by more than 30%.
Companies registered in Dubai can display advertisements on Rent-A-Cars provided that they obtain a no objection certificate (NOC) from the Rent-A-Car company.

RTA permit fees for car advertisements depend on the size of the image and its placement on the vehicle surface. The fees structure is categorized into 3 categories:
Basic Logo Advertisement: This category carries a nominal fee for displaying your company logo / brand / trade mark / trade name in English & Arabic, with contact details, PO. Box number, telephone number, email & website address of the company as per your trade license.
Half/Partial Wrap: Graphics that cover half of the vehicle which is the sides and rear bumper, will be considered as partial / half wrap. It is mandatory clause to display the trade name and contents in English & Arabic.
Full / Complete Wrap: Graphics that cover the full vehicle barring the side, the rear windows and the roof of the vehicle, which is not allowed as per RTA guidelines, will be considered as full wrap. The mandatory clause also includes that the trade name and contents should feature in both English & Arabic.
